Registration FAQ

1. When does registration open and close?
Pre-Registrations for 2026 players open in October 2025 and close in August 2026, or once teams are full. We recommend registering early to secure your place. Registrations for external players will open in November 2025.

2. How do I register?
All registrations are completed online via our REGISTRATIONS PAGE. Follow the prompts to select your age group and complete payment.

3. What age group should my child register in?
Players are grouped by the age they turn during the calendar year (e.g. turning 10 in 2026 = Under 10s). If you’re unsure, contact yjfc.info@gmail.com.

4. Can new players join the club?
Yes! We welcome new players of all skill levels. Please register as a new player or reach out to yjfc.info@gmail.com for help finding the right team.

5. What are the registration fees?
Fees vary by age group and competition level. Full details are available on our Registration Info page.

6. What does the registration fee include?
Fees generally cover team registration, insurance, referee fees, ground hire, and club administration. Uniforms may be purchased separately unless stated otherwise.

7. Are payment plans or financial assistance available?
Yes, payment plans can be arranged. We also accept Get Active vouchers. Please contact yjfc.info@gmail.com for assistance before completing registration.

8. When do training sessions start?
Training usually begins in late February or early March, depending on your team and coach availability. This will be posted on the Training Page in early in the year.

9. What nights are training?
Training nights are determined by each team’s volunteer coach but are typically held on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday afternoon or evening.

10. When does the season start and finish?
The season runs from early April through to September, including finals for competitive age groups in mid-late September.

11. Where are games played?
Home games are played at Fairfield Park, and away games are played at various grounds across Victoria. Games are played typically on a Sunday morning.

12. What equipment or uniform do I need?
Players need boots, shin guards, and a club uniform (jersey, shorts, socks). Uniforms can be purchased through the Club Shop.

13. Can I request to play with friends or a specific coach?
We’ll do our best to accommodate requests, especially for junior teams, but placement depends on team numbers and grading requirements. This can be specified in your registration form.

14. How are teams formed?
Teams are formed based on age, skill level, and team balance. Grading sessions may be held for older age groups, and will be communicated appropriately. 

15. Do you offer programs for younger children?
Yes, our Saturday Skills Program runs for players aged [4-7 years] and focuses on fun skill development. Please see more information HERE.

16. Who coaches the teams?
All teams are coached by volunteer parents or community members. The club provides support and training resources for new coaches.

17. How can I volunteer or get involved?
We rely on volunteers for coaching, managing, refereeing, and events. Please indicate your interest during registration or view more information HERE.
